DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE THERAPY
Deep tissue massage therapy is different to Swedish massage, the difference being the deeper tissues being addressed and specificity with the benefit of releasing chronic muscle tension.
This deep massage works by physically breaking down adhesions (knots) to relieve pain and restore normal movement. Because the focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue and tendons this type of massage therapy may cause some discomfort, but it is important to let your therapist know your pain threshold (never above a 7 on your pain scale).
There may be some stiffness or soreness directly after or up until a day after your massage.
It is advised to not participate in any strenuous activities after your massage, so take it easy.
